Clubbing Customs
The IN TRANSIT Club 2003 is concerned with Berlin, a city that
is in constant movement and change, not only physically. Perhaps
there is no better place than Berlin's club culture to investigate
this phenomenon? Who are these imagined, nocturnal communities?
And do they draw new boundaries with the light of dawn? DJ Ipek,
one of the protagonists of the Berlin oriental music scene, develops
her version of the Berlin club culture.
Visual design by the event artists Jill Denton and VISCON.
Talkshow with DJ Ipek: 7th of June, 18.30 h (free admission)
Doors open one hour prior to the beginning of the shows.
Admission fee: 5 Euro
Banzai Kids feat. VJ Kazu

The trademark of the Banzai Kids, i.e. the DJs Hito and Kentastic,
is a colourful and slightly bizarre mixture of pop, lounge, hip-hop,
drum´n´bass, big beat, house and Japanese club music.
The Japanese Hito from Himeji is known for her exotic DJ program
and her "theme" soup kitchen "Cocolo". As "Space
Kelly", the "half-Japanese Hamburger" Kentastic is
already an established pop star in Japan. Plus VJ Kazu with his
Japanese computer animations.

Computerjockeys
SAT, 14th of June, 23.00 h
22.00 h: Appetizer: DJ Le Crabb
DJ Le Crabb is a newcomer to the lounge and bar scene. The autodidact
made a name for herself at the Starlights parties. She presents an
exquisite, sensual pool of vibes that is like an eventful journey.
Wolfgang Hagedorn and Digital Jockey from Cologne make music with
their notebooks - and only with their notebooks. Their debut album
"Computerjockeys" (1999) spread their fame outside the scene
as well. Their trademark is a predilection for Asian sounds. In their
first work, they mainly sampled Asian instruments; now the singer
Ayako Akashiba provides the Asian touch.
